  • Apr. 29, 2003 - Paddling Baja: Hear the stories, see the pictures and get some tips on kayaking Baja in a program featuring the trip of Steve Hodge, Pauline Craig, Mel Rogers, Deanna Rogers, Martin Malkin and Judy Blake

  • Sep. 30, 2003 - Twelfth Annual �Tall Tales and True Stories� meeting, a potpourri of members� best (or worst) trips of the summer
  • Oct. 28, 2003 - A double feature from our Speaker for the Fleet, Randy Brook includes stills and short movies of the grizzlies of Katmai National Park, Alaska. See bear cubs play fighting and salmon jumping up a waterfall. The grizzlies are up close and personal. Some bear scenes rated �R�. Then travel to the Mediterranean, where the kayaking is very different from what we�re used to, including some unusual hazards. The area near Marseille has the steepest cliffs and wonderful caves to paddle into.  Some bare scenes rated �PG�.  
  • Jan. 27,2004MUSK OX ON BANKS ISLAND, CANADA: Banks Island, in the far north of Canada, has the world�s greatest concentration of musk oxen.  Noel and Cindy Gilbrough, who have delighted us with several shows of their previous arctic exploits, will present slides of this year�s adventure.  The group of 7 chartered their own airplane to get to the island, landing on the tundra.  They then spent 12 days traveling by decked canoe (and one folding kayak) down 99 miles of the Thomsen River in the middle of the island, ending near the north coast, gazing across the pack ice toward the North Pole less than 1000 miles away.
  • Feb. 24, 2004 - Darren Bouwman, of Moresby Explorers, will present his slide show on the Queen Charlottes.  Darren is especially interested in and knowledgeable about the marine environment and coastal rainforests and says they are among the highlights of his slides.

  • Apr 27, 2004 - Lee Moyer: He�s a legend in the Northwest kayaking world, having designed and sold some of the most popular boats on the water
  • May 25, 2004 -  Les Urich will present a slide program on good trip preparation and the pitfalls that await when preparation falls a little short. He'll be drawing on all his experience, plus a well-honed sense of humor and great pictures from his many trips.
  • OUR ANNUAL PICNIC.....the Social Event of the season is on Tuesday, June 29, 2004.  We gather between 5:00 and 6:00 P.M. and the pizza arrives at 6:30 P.M.  (Hint: don�t be too late or it will be all gone).  Come to Magnuson Park on Lake Washington and look for shelter #1.  Some of us will be coming early to hold the table.

  • Oct. 26, 2004 - We will feature two trips a world apart in miles and mood that illustrate the striking variety of experience that kayaking opens up to those who venture out on the water, John Wilson will discuss his trip down Montana's Smith River AND DeDe Chinlund will present her trip to the Galapagos Islands.

  • Nov. 30, 2004 - Glaciers, geysers, active volcanoes and some of the world�s largest colonies of breeding sea birds were among the natural wonders encountered by Shawna Franklin, Leon Somme and Chris Duff, of Port Townsend, when the three circumnavigated Iceland by kayak.  The 81-day trip covered 1,700 nautical miles, and every day brought something new and fascinating, says Leon.
